After a successful 2015 expedition, JEUNES KARIBUS is more alive than ever! A youth project unique to Nunavik, JEUNES KARIBUS promotes perseverance under all conditions through a unifying athletic challenge. In 2016 we opened the project to the whole Nunavik region. This year, 33 students aged 10 to 15 years old, along with 10 coaches in the communities of Kuujjuaq, Tasiujaq, Kangirsuk and Kuujjuaraapik will take part in this great journey.

Our project is based on four pillars:
  • Academic, social, community and personal perseverance
  • Healthy living habits (nutrition and physical activity)
  • Environmental awareness and reappropriation of traditional land
  • Developing employability
Project schedule

From April 14 to 18, 2016, a team from Kuujjuaq and Tasiujaq will merge and ski from Tasiujaq to Aupaluk while teams from Kuujjuarapik and Kangirsuk will unite and ski from Kangirsuk to Aupaluk. This way, all four schools will meet in Aupaluk at the end of their journey.
